‘Gauravargal’, a film directed by Sanjay Ram with Sathyaraj and Vigneshwaran (formerly Vignesh) playing the lead roles, marks a new beginning in Tamil cinema, as it is produced by 10 ten theatre owners from Salem district.

Audio launch function of the movie was held in Chennai on Friday in which Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan presented the first copy to Theatre Owners’ Association chief Abirami Ramanathan.

In his address, Sathyaraj hailed Sanjay Ram and said the filmmaker is like an octopus (of the World Cup Football fame) when it comes to choosing right scripts. Veteran director K Bhagyaraj appreciated the director for convincing 10 producers.

Music for ‘Gauravargal’ is by Dheena. Others who had attended the function were actor-directors R Parthiban and Ramesh Kanna, actresses Chachu and Monica, producer Sivasakthi Pandian and director R K Selvamani.
